Over 200 businesses from the North are participating in a trade and industrial fair which opened late last week in Nam Dinh Province as part of the National Trade Promotion Programme in 2022.
A trade promotion programme between representatives of 58 enterprises from Incheon, Jeonju, Daegu, Gyeongbuk of the Republic of Korea (RoK) and Vietnamese firms will be held virtually on March 21-25 by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) in Ha Noi.
Viet Nam is planning to launch a VND136 billion (US$5.8 million) trade promotion programme in 2020, focusing on expanding key markets and enabling Vietnamese firms to join global value chains.
Vietnamese companies, especially those in the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta, should participate in trade promotion programmes if they want to expand exports to Japan, according to the Viet Nam Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade).
The national trade promotion programme in 2018 will support key sectors, markets and prioritise the development of brand names of some key products every year.
Trade promotion has become more and more important because it impacts enterprises’ product consumption so trade promotion should be improved, an official said.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) has approved 199 projects for the National Trade Promotion Programme in 2017, which will be implemented with VND90 billion (US$3.96 million) sourced from the State budget.
The national trade promotion programme in 2016 aimed to help firms take
full advantage of new free trade agreements as well as the global
economic recovery, said Do Thang Hai, Deputy Minister of Industry and
Trade.
The newly-approved 2015 national trade promotion programme, worth
VND100 billion (US$4.65 million), has been highly acclaimed by
businesses, bankers and localities across the country, a conference in
Ha Noi heard late last week.
The Viet Nam Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade) and localities would
strengthen trade promotion programmes to help local firms expand their
markets, a meeting heard yesterday in HCM City.
